The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust (KEECT) Awards Ceremony was held in the grounds of the University of Auckland at historic Old Government House on Sunday 5 August 2018.
It was lovely to meet some of our awardees and their families and friends. This event is a unique celebration of the achievements of recipients of Awards provided by The KEECT. Certificates and white roses were presented to our recipients of this year's tertiary educational awards, followed by an afternoon tea.
This year, our ceremony paid tribute to the 125 year anniversary of women’s suffrage in New Zealand and we were privileged to have Christina Sayers-Wickstead as our guest speaker. Christina is the Project Founder and Creative Director of the New Zealand Suffrage Museum Project. Shanti Brown, one of our recipients, also spoke.
Over the last 12 months, the KEECT has provided financial assistance of over $600,000 to 120 women, from $2,000 grants assisting awardees to retrain, to $16,000 post graduate research projects. Many thanks to all our supporters and sponsors for helping us to achieve this.
