The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust
Hiring with us generates financial rewards for students.
Academic Dress Hire is owned and managed by The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust.
The Trust is named after Kate Milligan Edger (1857 – 1935), the first woman to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in the British Empire.
Each year the proceeds from Academic Dress Hire are returned to the community in the form of nearly 100 awards to assist women involved in research, professional development, artistic or creative activities.
Financial assistance is provided for foundation, undergraduate, graduate and post graduate study at tertiary institutions in the Auckland area. One of our recipients recently wrote:
“As a member of a single income family with school going children it was difficult to accomplish my goals of retraining as nurse without generous support I received through the scholarship. Once again I would thank you for judicious help and I will ensure to contribute back to the society once I graduate as a trained nurse”
“I am honoured as a recipient of this award and I appreciate the fact from the bottom of my heart that such awards are so helpful in cash strained student life allowing us to focus on our studies instead of worrying about the finances thereby enabling students to pursue their goals.”
