Congratulations on successfully completing your programme of study.
Graduation is a special occasion for you, your family and for Unitec. The graduation ceremony is a mix of traditional and modern elements. Our role is to make it special and enjoyable for you.
The Autumn 2012 graduation ceremony will be held on 3rd and 4th of April 2012 at the Auckland Town Hall, Queen Street Auckland
All graduands are required to assemble in the Concert Chamber in the Town Hall, 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.
At this time, you are organised into order to ensure you receive the correct certificate. We also demonstrate the capping process.
It is critical you are on time. If you are late you will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony.
Children over two years of age require tickets. They must be closely supervised and accompanied by an adult (who is not graduating) at all times as childcare services are not available.
As graduation ceremonies are formal occasions, children often find them tedious and uncomfortable. Guests with young children should sit next to/near an aisle so that, if necessary, they can be taken outside to avoid disrupting the ceremony or other guests.
Procession
There will be a street procession on Tuesday 3 April and Wednesday 4 April. Students who are graduating in the ceremony are welcome to participate. When choosing footwear, please bear in mind the procession route takes you along some uneven paths and steep streets.
Students who are attending the procession need to meet at the water fountain in Albert Park by 8.45am.
We process through the park, down Bowen Street and Victoria Street East, up Queen Street to the Town Hall. Please proceed straight into the concert chamber if you are graduating in the first ceremony of the day.
Should the procession be cancelled because of bad weather, a message will be left on +64 9 815 4321 ext 8511.
