How to order
We recognise that all our customers are different so there are lots of different ways to order. Just select the one that suits you best.
- Online - Return to the home page or select Shop Online to start ordering
- Email – Download our order form and email or fax it back to us, click here Order by Email
- Office - Order in person at Academic Dress Hire at 17 George Street, Parnell, Auckland. We are open Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 4:30pm and late opening until 6:00pm on Tuesday.

Please note that the regalia sets below are a general guide only as every Institution has slightly different regalia sets and different colour trims and styles of Degree Hoods, Stoles/Scarves and Tassels. Check out our What to Wear guide for your Institutions regalia requirements

We have a supply of the most commonly requested hoods in stock, other hoods are made to order on request. If the Hood you require is from a University not listed above, please provide us with a photograph of the hood you need and we will advise you of your options.
To buy regalia please click return to the home page and choose the Shop Online option or give us a call to place your order or discuss your options on 09 358 1044. You will also need to visit our premises to carry out a personal fitting, or contact us to make other arrangements.
Once full payment is received, stock will be ordered in. Please allow 5-7 working days for hood stock to arrive. We will call you when your order is ready to collect.

- Cheque payment only available up to 7 days before your graduation date to allow time for cheque funds to clear before collection of regalia)
Payment is to be made as soon as possible after placing your order. We experience high volumes of graduates coming through on collection dates. Those who choose to pay when collecting should factor in allowing more time at ADH to pay at the office before moving through to collect regalia. Bonds
If you are attending a graduation for University of Auckland, MIT, AUT or Unitec or another graduation where Academic Dress Hire is the preferred supplier, you will not need to pay bond.
Any individual who wishes to hire graduation regalia for photographs or reasons other than attending an Academic Dress Hire sanctioned graduation ceremony can hire regalia on Casual Hire basis.
We are happy to supply graduation regalia on specially arranged casual hire terms. A bond is payable as security for the hire of graduation regalia. All casual hire payments are paid in full before dispatch of graduation regalia.
Bond is $100.00 for all casual hires that include a gown. If you hire a hood or hat only the bond is $50.00. Your bond will be fully refunded on return of graduation regalia. Costs for hire items as below:

Combining hire and purchase of regalia
You can choose to hire some, and purchase to keep some of your regalia order. A number of recent graduates have chosen to hire the gown, and buy the trencher and hood to keep. You can also purchase a full set of regalia, the choice is yours.
There are options to hire or buy during the ordering process and in the shopping cart. For a full list of items and purchase versus hire costs, please see the information above under Cost to Hire and Cost to Buy.
If you wish to purchase a degree hood or diploma stole, please notify us as soon as possible. A $50.00 deposit is required before these items will be ordered for you.
If you also choose to hire some items, the hire items will need to be returned at the times stated on your invoice to avoid late fee penalties.
